Submissions NOW OPEN for Season 8
Coming to New Orleans on April 4, 2026
What would you make if you weren't afraid to fail?
Failed Films is a perverse immersive multimedia festival that gives artists a container to risk failing. To make something that is not for sale, something that is of the heart, and to share it with a room full of people holding that vulnerability together in the dark.
We were founded in Oakland in 2016 by creators in the adult industry who wanted space for our art. The weird, the unfinished, the too-personal, the things we were afraid to make. Since then, we've run eight seasons across the Bay Area and Los Angeles, screening hundreds of films from hundreds of artists, many of them first-time filmmakers. We center sex worker, queer, trans, and BIPOC artists. If mainstream art spaces have overlooked you, this is where you belong.
Now we're bringing Failed Films to New Orleans.
On April 4, 2026, we're hosting a one-night event featuring short films, visual art installations, and multimedia work from New Orleans-based artists. We want this show to belong to New Orleans, your stories, your community, your beautiful failures.
What we're looking for:
Short films (5–8 minutes)
Visual art installations
Interactive/multimedia installations
Ultra-wide video art for 40' screen
You don't need a finished piece to submit—a concept and description is enough. Final works are due in March 2026.
Submissions open December 17, 2025 through February 2026.
